IRIS & OAK PRINTS
Inviting calm and beauty into everyday spaces through art rooted in real places

OUR STORY
Our story began years ago with a simple anniversary gift — a painting created from one of our own travel photos during a sunrise hike in Yellowstone National Park. We’d woken up in the dark, climbed a quiet trail, and reached the overlook just as the first light touched the horizon. Seeing that moment reimagined as art brought all the memories rushing back — the calm, the peace, the sense of adventure. That’s when the seed for Iris & Oak Prints was planted. “Iris” represents the Tennessee state flower — our home and where we live now — while “Oak” comes from the Iowa state tree, where I grew up. Together, the name reflects our roots, our story, and our shared love for nature-inspired art that carries meaning.
Each piece begins as a real photograph from our travels — mostly scenic landscapes from national parks, lakes, and mountain trails across the U.S. Over the past twenty years, I’ve sifted through my favorite captures, choosing moments with just the right light, color, and stillness. Through an impressionist digital process, these photos become a reflection of how those moments live on in our minds — softer, more serene, and full of feeling. I love that even a simple snapshot from decades ago can be transformed into timeless wall art — rich in texture, emotion, and natural beauty.
At its heart, Iris & Oak Prints is an invitation to slow down. Each print is a small window to the outdoors — a peaceful reminder of the calm and wonder found in nature. Whether displayed in a cozy living room, creative workspace, or cabin retreat, these prints are meant to bring the feeling of open air into everyday life. They’re not mass-produced décor, but meaningful, nature-inspired artwork — moments where time stood still, now shared with others who long for that same sense of peace and reflection.
